Leadership Team:

Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.
Dr. Jim Kerr, Senior Pastor
Dr. Kerr joined FBC-FH as the Minister of Education in January 2012 and became Senior Pastor in June 2012. Dr. Kerr has been a pastor since 1980. He has served as a youth pastor, church planter, worship leader and senior pastor. He is a continuous student of the Word of God, having a deep rooted love for God’s Word. “In studying God’s Word, one will receive a clearer vision of self’s sins and God’s holiness. This clear vision will result in a heart that is eager to repent and greatly desires to worship the Lord.” Brother Jim and his wife Christy, emphasize the value of family life, living the Christian walk in the home. They have two married children and six grandchildren.

He began his ministry in 1994 in Southern California and has served congregations in Washington, Virginia, and Illinois. David has a great love for worship and music in the church, sensitivity to the leading of the Holy Spirit in worship, and a joy in caring for God’s people. David and his wife, Sheri, have been married for 29 years and have two adult children, Adam and Andrea, as well as one grandson, Aiden.

LeAnn Blanton, Children’s Ministry Director

Martin Tompkins, Pastor to Students
Martin joined our staff in March of 2018. He and his wife Meghan are originally from Louisville, KY.  Both Martin and Meghan have a passion to minister to students.  They were married in April of 2016.
Kayla Dempsey, CDC Director

Kayla joined the team in the fall of 2015. She has been working with children since she was a teen and has a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree that specializes in child development in social context. Kayla previously worked with children and families in foster care. While in this position, it weighed heavily on her heart that her clients needed Jesus, and her work position limited what she was able to share with them. Sometime later, Kayla felt called to the position of CDC Director which combined two of her great passions-Jesus and kids.
